Pictures from Veikko Sinisalo's Time of Peace tour ("Rauhan Aika")
Actor, Professor H.C. Veikko Sinisalo died 16th of December 2003 at age of 77.
Veikko was a great artist, fine person and good friend of mine. I was a sound technician and part of the road crew on his last big tour. Time of Peace ("Rauhan Aika") toured Finnland and Sweden, tens of thousands of kilometers and 111 shows.
I watched from behind the mixing console all the rehearsals and all the shows. It was great experience to be part of the strong theatre play, and being part of a modern missionary. Veikko really made the Bible come alive.
Veikko had very warm relationship with his young road crew. We, the road crew, were most of the time his son Antti-Veikko, Jonne and I, youngsters at our twenties. It was joy and honour to work with Veikko. The great artist respected his young team of technicians, and our work was seamless.
I was an amateur photographer already those times, and during the rehearsals and touring I produced a series of photographs. I gave the album to Veikko as a Christmas present. Now, thirteen years later, I put together a series of photographs, in remembrance of Veikko.
